The National 505 Panther Plus is an electric walk-behind floor stripper. National no longer lists the 505 on its website and no longer posts a manual for it. The instruction manual below is a copy from PreFloor's own archive.

Operating and care notes

From the 505 instruction manual.

  • Check that nuts and bolts are tight before use, and keep the wheels free of debris.
  • Use the voltage on the machine's nameplate, a properly grounded cord and receptacle, and 12-3 or heavier cord no longer than 50 feet. Use a GFI on the cord around water or wet conditions.
  • Unplug the machine before servicing or changing blades.
  • Don't drop the machine onto the cutting head; it can damage the blade holder and wear the bearing surface.
  • Remove the counterweight and blades before loading or unloading. The handle and front weight come off for transport.
